COIN’S FRONT:
At its center the coin is silver plated. It displays D-DAY using the legendary Square D, group marking of the 100th Bomb Group in a white enamel fill surrounded by a black enamel filled square. The 3 bombs at the lower end of the coin represent the 3 missions of the 100th Bomb Group on June 6, 1944. The outer rim of the coin shows raised text with yellow enamel fill and an Army green enamel filled background illustrating "80th ANNIVERSARY" and "THE ALLIED INVASION NORMANDY, FRANCE
COIN'S BACK:
At its center, the coin displays a 100th Bomb Group B-17 in silver plating with the legendary square D on it's wing. Below the B-17 another B-17 can be seen flying in formation. The beaches of Normady can be seen from above with the the enamel filled blue water, the yellow enamel filled sand of the beach and the green enamel filled countryside. Puffy white enamel filled clouds can be seen from above as well as the black enamel filled craters from the bombs that were dropped from the B-17's. The outer rim of the coin shows raised text with white enamel fill and a black enamel filled background illustrating "AIR SUPREMACY" and "OPERATION OVERLORD"
