100th Bomb Group Foundation Challenge Coin
In honor of the
100th Bombardment Group (H) of WWII
and the
100th Air Refueling Wing, RAF Mildenhall
The Quality and Craftsmanship of this Commemorative Challenge Coin features:
· Die struck raised metal surfaces on front and back sides
· High polished silver plating
· Eight color enamel fills
· Large 2 inch diameter
· Enclosed in a thick vinyl packet
The front of the coin displays the 100th Bomb Group Emblem, the Bloody Hundredth, an Eight Air Force B-17 Flying Fortress unit in England, stationed at RAF Thorpe Abbotts during WWII.
The back of the displays the RAF Mildenhall logo and the tail markings on a KC-135 and a B-17 with the U.S. and British Flags. It represents the bond between the 100th Air Refueling Wing (100th ARW) a United States Air Force unit assigned to the United States Air Forces in Europe Third Air Force, stationed at RAF Mildenhall, England and its predecessor, the 100th Bombardment Group (H) of WWII.
